Trusting with defences down

Trusting with defences down

“Let your yes be yes and…. Clarify your yes!”

1. When I ask you something, I am going to make it super clear what that looks like and you give an option to re-negotiate.

2. If you make a request of me, I am going to be clear on your request, by asking questions.

3. If at some point I have made a commitment to you, I am going straight to you to update you.

All this is to try and reduce the gap between your expectations and reality.

I'm trustworthy, but can I trust others?

I'm trustworthy, but can I trust others?

Trust Builds, Suspicion destroys.

The 3 commitments

  • When things don’t go as expect and there is a gap between my expectation and reality. I am going to choose to fill that gap with Trust.

  • When someone else comes to me and tries to fill that gap with suspicion about you I am going to choose to fill that with Trust.

  • If at any point that Trust begins to erode, at that point I am going to come and speak directly to you.
